Newark, CA -- February 10, 1998 -- Chem USA Corp. today announced its ChemBook?3300 Series notebook computer with Intel?Pentium?processor with MMX?technology at speeds up to 233 MHz processor, 12.1-in. TFT screen, and coexisting 20X CD-ROM and 3.5-inch floppy drive.

Other highlights of the ChemBook 3300 include USB port, full-duplex surround sound, and built-in 1.44MB 3-mode floppy drive.

The ChemBook?3300 series features an Intel? 430TX PCI chipset with enhanced power management function. The system BIOS is Systemsoft with 256KB flash EPROM, APM, and plug & play.

• Processor. The ChemBook?3300 series feature Intel?Pentium?processors with MMX? technology up to 233MHz.
• RAM memory. The ChemBook?3300 features 32MB of RAM standard and is expandable up to 96MB, The unit also has one 144-pin DIMM socket and supports EDO RAM. 256KB synchronous pipelined-burst SRAM secondary cache is standard.
• Storage. A built-in, 2.5-inch 2.0GB hard disk drive is standard with the ChemBook? 3300. A 4.0 and 5.0GB hard disk drive are optional. The unit also comes with a built-in 3-mode 1.44MB floppy drive and built-in 20X CD-ROM drive.
• PCMCIA slots. The unit accommodates two Type II or one Type III PC cards, and supports 32-bit PCI Cardbus architecture and Zoomed Video Port.
• Video. The ChemBook?3300 comes standard with 2MB EDO video memory, built-in Windows GUI accelerator, and 64-bit memory bus.
• Display. The ChemBook?3300 comes standard with a 12.1-in. SVGA TFT screen with 16.8M maximum colors at 800x600 resolution. The unit can support external resolution up to 1024x768 with 64k colors on external monitors.
• Sound system. A built-in 16-bit, 3D surround stereo sound with full-duplex comes standard with the unit.
• I/O ports. Included are one USB port, fast IrDA port, external CRT port, serial port (16C550), parallel port (ECP & EPP), and PS/2 keyboard/mouse port.
• Power management. The ChemBook?3300 comes standard with a NiMH battery. The unit also features doze, sleep, suspend, and hibernation modes.
• Other accessories and options. Also available for the ChemBook 3300 series is an external charger, car adapter, and 33.6 Kbps or 56Kbps PCMCIA fax/modem.
• Weight and dimensions. The unit weighs 7.0 pounds, depending on the configuration, and measures 11.7 by 9.4 by 1.8-inches. Measurements include Windows 95 keyboard and trackpad.
