Superior Performance
Stylish All-In-One Design
The ChemBook™ 9780 represents the latest trend of replacing the
desktop computer with the mobile system. It combines feature, performance, and
portability, making it an ideal choice for professionals on the road.
When it comes to the central processor, the 9780 combines the best of both
worlds. By using a Socket 7 design, the 9780 continues the tradition of
ChemBook™ with upgradeable CPUs. Yet, with the addition of a Socket 7
daughterboard, the 9780 also supports the latest in Intel® mobile Pentium®
processor with MMX™ technology at speeds up to 266 MHz, based upon
the new 0.25-micron manufacturing technology with a 1.8V or 2.0V core
voltage and 2.5V I/O voltage. The lower voltage directly translates into
remarkable improvement in battery life.
The 9780 is designed around the latest core logic chipset from Intel®
designed for the Intel® Pentium® processor with MMX™ technology, the 430TX
PCISet. This means that the 9780 is equipped with the latest features
available on a mobile system, including Ultra DMA/33, support for SDRAM,
Universal Serial Bus, and optimized for MMX™ technology.
Not to be ignored is the bright and crisp LCD of the 9780. Measuring 14.1"
in diameter, it is capable of displaying up to XGA resolution of 1024 x 768 at
True Color (16.8 million colors) with 4MB Video RAM. Driven by a 64-bit
graphics controller, the 9780 display matches quality with performance.

Available on the 9780 is an impressive array of peripheral connections,
such as Cardbus slots, 2 USB Ports, 16-bit Audio with Hardware
Wavetable, and RCA Video-In and TV-Out Ports. Other features
include Smart Battery and a fast, removable 24X CD-ROM, which
can be replaced by a DVD-ROM.
