As often as the word "innovation" has been misused, the ChemBook™ 7400 is truly a notebook system packed with innovation. Leading the way is the new AGP Interface (Advanced Graphics Port), which increases the bandwidth to the video subsystem by as much as 4 times over the standard PCI bus. This is made possible by the use of a second-generation Intel® Mobile Module, also known as MMC-2. As part of the video subsystem, you will find a 3D Graphics Accelerator with 4MB of SGRAM Video Memory. The combination of these technologies, along with up to 288MB of SDRAM system memory, enables you to experience a new plateau of video performance never reached before in the mobile computing area.

Another feature previously unavailable on ChemBook notebooks are the dual Fast Infrared Ports. With one port located in front of the palm rest and the other at the rear of the system, the 7400 can only make your life more convenient. You will not have to turn the machine around just to line up the infrared ports. You can now use either one of the infrared ports for data transfer or printing, along with other wireless applications.

Not to be overlooked is the fact that the ChemBook™ 7400 has an All-In-One design. You will be able to use the CD-ROM (interchangeable with DVD-ROM), floppy drive, hard drive, and battery simultaneously and internally. This means that you will not have to worry about having the cables tangled together. All this is available in a system weighing no more than 7 pounds and measuring no more than 1.8" in thickness. You might think that overheating is inevitable with all these devices cramped into such little space. But with breakthroughs in Advanced Ventilation Design, such as heat pipe and temperature-controller cooling fan, overheating is the one thing you will not have to worry about.

In addition to all the performance you will ever need, you will also find all the features that you want in a notebook computer. USB Port and TV Out ports are standard, and optional features include DVD-ROM / Hardware MPEG-2 and Internal 56Kbps v.90 Voice/Fax/Modem. The ChemBook 7400 is truly a complete system that meets all your needs.
