Here are links to instructions for setting up Windows operating systems:
Windows 95 OSR 2.x and Windows
98.

Note: The Utility CD contains an AutoRun program which allows you to select
the driver to install. You may use the Autorun feature, or follow the
instructions in this file.
Suspend-to-Disk Partition
- Insert the DOS bootable diskette with phdisk utility into Drive A.
- Type phdisk /create 150000.
- The phdisk utility will create a partition of 150MB automatically, which
will allow you to expand your system memory to the maximum of 144MB and
still use the Suspend to Disk feature.
Core Logic
Windows 95
- Insert the Utility CD.
- Run Setup.EXE under \patch on the CD-ROM, and Click on Next.
- View the License Agreement and select File/Exit to close Notepad, and
click Yes if you agree to continue.
- Click Next to update the Intel® 82371xB.Inf file.
- Click OK to reboot the computer.
Video Drivers
Windows 95 / 98
- Insert the Utility CD.
- Start Control Panel, and select Display / Settings / Advanced Properties
/ Change / Have Disk.
- Use Browse to locate the VGA driver from the support CD under
\VGA\Win95, and click OK.
- Click OK twice to confirm Install From Disk and Select Device.
- Click Close, then move the Desktop/Screen area to 1024 x 768, then click
Close again.
- Click Yes to reboot the system.
Windows NT 4.0
- Start Control Panel, and select Display / Settings / Display Type /
Change / Have Disk.
- Click on Browse to locate \VGA\NT40 on the utility CD, and click Open.
- Click OK twice to confirm Install From Disk and Change Display, and
Click Yes to confirm Third-Party Drivers.
- Click OK to exit the display property, and click Close twice and Yes to
reboot the system.
Audio Drivers
Windows 98
- Make sure you have downloaded the updated Windows 98 Audio driver from
the FTP page.
- Go to Start / Settings / Control Panel / System / Device Manager
- Remove all devices from under Other Devices.
- Remove all devices from under Sound, Video and Game Controllers. Click
OK.
- Shut down and restart Windows 98.
- When Windows 98 restarts, 2 new hardware will be found. They are labeled
as Yamaha OPL3-SAx WDM Driver and Yamaha Gameport Joystick.
- Click on Yamaha OPL3-SAx WDM driver, and select Properties / Drivers /
Change Driver.
- Specify that you want to look for a new driver in a specific directory.
- Instruct Windows to search for the new driver in the directory where you
extracted the downloaded audio driver file.
- You should now see the new driver as Yamaha OPL3-SAx Sound System.
Select Next, then Finish.
- Click on Gameport Joystick, and select Properties / Drivers / Change
Driver.
- Specify that you want to look for a new driver in a specific directory.
- Instruct Windows to search for the new driver in the directory where you
extracted the downloaded audio driver file.
- You should now see the new driver as Yamaha OPL3-SAx Gameport Joystick.
Select Next, then Finish.
Windows 95
- Go to Start / Settings / Control Panel / System / Device Manager
- From under Other Devices, remove Yamaha OPL3-SAx Audio System. Then
click OK.
- From under Sound, Video and Game Controllers, remove Gameport Joystick.
The click OK.
- Shut down and restart Windows 95.
- Click Next when Windows 95 recognizes the YAMAHA OPL3-SAx Audio System.
- Click Other Locations, then click Browse to locate the audio driver from
the Driver and Utility CD-ROM, under D:\Audio\Win95. Then click OK.
- Click OK then Finish.
- Specify the audio driver path d:\audio\win95 again, then click OK.
Windows NT 4.0
- Start Control Panel / Multimedia / Devices / Audio Devices
- Click Add, and highlight Unlisted or updated Driver, and click OK.
- Use Browse to find the directory \Audio\Winnt\Multi1 on the CD, and
click OK.
- Click OK to confirm driver installation.
- Highlight your language version, then click OK.
- Click OK to accept the default hardware configuration settings.
- Click Restart Now to reboot the system.
PCMCIA Drivers
Windows 95
- Remove all PC Cards physically from the socket.
- From the Utility CD-ROM, run D:\PCMCIA\Phoenix\Win95\Setup.
- Click on Install button to upgrade PCMCIA driver and reboot the system.
Windows NT 4.0
- Make sure that the Windows NT Service Pack 3 is installed.
- Insert the utility CD.
- Run D:\PCMCIA\Phoenix\NT40\APM\Setup.EXE to install APM 2.00 for Windows
NT.
- Click OK and Restart Now to reboot the system.
- Run D:\PCMCIA\Phoenix\NT40\Disk\Setup to install Card Executive 2.0 for
Windows NT.
- Click OK and Restart Now to reboot the system.
Note:Driver and Utility version 2.0 does not include APM and PCMCIA
Drivers (Card Executive) for Windows NT 4.0. Without the APM driver, you will
not be able to determine the battery status in Windows NT. You will still be
able to configure the PCMCIA cards without these drivers by inserting the
cards before bootup. Modems will need to be automatically queried by Windows
NT Control Panel / Modem, and Ethernet cards will need to be manually added
via Control Panel / Network. You should still be able to download the APM and
PCMCIA Card Executive software from the 6000 Download
Page.
USB Driver
Windows 95
- Insert the Windows 95 OSR2 CD with USB Support.
- Start Control Panel, and click on System / Device Manager, and remove
PCI Universal Serial Bus.
- Run D:\USBSUPP.EXE.
- After you click Yes to accept the License Agreement, files will be
copied. Restart the computer when finished.
- Windows will find the Universal Serial Bus Controller, and New Hardware
Found wizard will start.
- When asked to insert the Windows 95 CD-ROM or the location of uhcd.sys,
type in C:\Windows\System as the path.
- Allow Windows to find USB Root Hub and Universal Host Controller.
