Network Cards
- In CMOS BIOS\Components\Audio IRQ, DMA, set the Audio IRQ=7 or 9(default
is 5)
- Run CardWizard PCMCIA Driver setup.exe in Windows3.1
- Modify C:\CardWiz\CARDID.INI file, set LAN1IRQ=5
- Reboot.
3COM 3C589 PCMCIA Network card
At DOS prompt, type:
- LSL--- Provided by Novell
- 3C589--- Provided by card manufacturer
- IPXODI--- Provided by Novell
- VLM--- Provided by Novell
Note: Only after you load 3C589, you can get the correct card information
through CARDINFO
IC-CARD(D-Link DE-650)
- Copy A:\IBMPC\INSTALL\CardSoft\ICARD.CLB to C:\CardWiz
- Edit C:\CardWiz\CARDID.INI file,
- add CardLib=ICARD.CLB at the top of library file list
- Reboot system and at DOS prompt, type:
- LSL--- Provided by Novell
- ICARDODI--- Provided by card manufacturer
- IPXODI--- Provided by Novell
- VLM--- Provided by Novell
Note: You can get the correct card information through CARDINFO without
additional driver.
IBM Ethernet Card(NatSemi NE4100 Infomover or compatible)
- Edit C:\CardWiz\CARDID.INI file, remark CardLib=IBMLAN.CLB
- Reboot system and at DOS prompt, type :
- LSL--- Provided by Novell
- PCMDMCS--- Provided by card manufacturer
- IPXODI--- Provided by Novell
- VLM--- Provided by Novell
Note: Only after you load PCMDMCS, you can get the correct card information
through CARDINFO

Windows 3.11 for Workgroup Setup:
- In Windows, double-click Network group icon.
- Double-click Network Setup icon. Click "Networks..." button
and choose "Install Windows support for the following Network
only:", from the list, select "Novell NetWare[Workstation Shell
4.0 and above]" or "Novell NetWare[Workstation Shell 3.X]".
- Click "OK" and follow the instruction on the screen to
complete the setup.
- Re-boot the system.
Windows'95 Environment Setup:
(CardWork for Windows'95 should be installed before configuring any
PCMCIA card)
3COM 3C589 PCMCIA Network card
IBM Ethernet Card(NatSemi NE4100 Infomover or compatible)
Just plug in the card and Windows'95 will configure everything for you.
Premax Ethernet Card
- In Windows'95 Control Panel\System\Device Manager\PCMCIA Socket, make
sure the default controller is "Vadem or compatible PCMCIA
controller".
- Install CardWork. Restart Windows'95
- Plug in (Premax) Ethernet Network Card. At CardWizard prompt, choose
"Have diskeete provided by card manufacturer" and set the file
path to be "A:\win95". Choose "Yes" when prompt
"...Would you like to setup this card in CardSoft mode?"
- Copy A:\netopen.exe to C:\. Edit AUTOEXEC.BAT file, add "C:\NETOPEN
/INT=5 /PORT=300" into the file. Restart Windows'95.
- In Windows'95 Control Panel, open "Add New Hardware" icon and
manually Network Adaptors\Manufacturers: "Novell/Anthem",
Models: "NE2000 Compatible".
- System will show "Input/Output Range" and "Interrupt
Request" values, which are set by Windows'95. Write down these
values.
- Edit Autoexec.bat file and change the NETOPEN command line parameters to
be the values you just write down. Hook up the network card to your
network and restart Windows'95.
- In Windows'95, open "Network Neighborhood" icon and your
network server will show up.
IC-CARD(D-Link DE-650)
Plug in the card and at SystemSoft CardWizard prompt, choose "Use
CardSoft Mode". At SystemSoft CardWizard toolbar, choose
View\Properties\Drivers\Change Card Driver\Use Plug and Play\OK. From New
Hardware Found window, choose "select from a list of alternative
drivers". Select Network adapters\D-Link Corporation\D-Link DE650
Ethernet Card PCMCIA\OK.(1)
Note:
- Go into Control Panel\System\Device Manager\Network adapters\ D-Link
DE650 Ethernet Card PCMCIA\Properties and check Device Status: This device
is working properly. If the status shows resource conflict, click
Resources Tab\Set Configuration Manually and set the conflicting resources
manually.

EXP ThinFax 288 PCMCIA V.34 Fax/Modem
- Plug in the card, it will be recognized and configured by Windows'95
automatically.
Generic 28.8 PCMCIA V.34 Fax/Modem
- Insert the card. SystemSoft Cardwizard will detect it as 28.8/14.4 Kbps
Data/Fax Modem.
- In CardWiz, choose View\Properties\Drivers\Change Card Driver\Use
CardSoft Mode\OK.
- Pull out the card and re-insert the card. "?" shows on CardWiz
icon.
- Click Wizard\Auto Correct. It will show "CardSoft Mode" in
CardWiz icon.
- In HyperTerminal, click "modify", choose "Connect using:
CardSoft PCMCIA modem".
