Suspend-to-Disk
Partition
-
Boot up from a bootable DOS disk.
-
Insert the disk labeled "Utility & Driver
Disk".
-
Change Directory to A:\S2D, and type MIDISK.
-
You can select either Optimized or Maximum Size.
Note : If you select Optimized size and decide later on to add more
memory, you will need to repeat this step and re-install Windows.
-
After partition is created, select Update Now, and
reboot the system.
Video Driver
Windows 95
-
Go into "Control Panel" /
"Display" / "Settings" / "Advanced
Properties".
-
In the screen for Adapter, click on Change.
-
Insert the diskette labeled "VGA Driver for
Win95", and select Have Disk. Use Browse to point to a:\win95e.
-
Select Trident 9660/9680/938X, Linear Accelerator
for PCI (v.4.02.05.TW.02)
-
Click on Monitor/Change. Select Show All Devices,
and select Laptop Display Panel 800x600.
-
Click on Close to return to the Settings screen.
-
Move the Desktop Area slider right to 800x600, and
check the box for Show settings icon on task bar.
-
Click on Apply. Restart Windows when prompted.
Windows NT 4.0
-
Go to Control Panel / Settings.
-
Click on Change Adapter Settings, and Click on
Change.
-
From the list of Adapters, select Trident as the
manufacturer, and Trident Video Accelerator as the model.
-
Insert Windows NT CD if necessary, and point to D:\drvlib\video\trident.
-
Move the Desktop Area slider to 800 x 600, and
select either 256 or 65536 colors.
-
Click on Test to test the new settings. After 5
seconds, you will be returned to the settings screen. Click on Apply
or OK for the new settings to take effect.
Windows 3.xx
-
Insert the diskette labeled VGA Driver for Win3.1
& NT 3.51.
-
Run "a:\win31e\tinstall" in Windows.
-
Select Express Setup, and continue to confirm
installation paths.
-
After Setup finishes, restart Windows, and run
Screen Control program from Program Manager, and Choose 800x600 for
Resolution and 256 for Color.
-
Choose OK to restart Windows.
Audio Driver
Windows 95
-
Insert the disk labeled Audio Drivers (disk 2 of 4).
-
Go into "Control Panel" /
"System" / "Device Manager" / "Other
Devices"
-
You should see two ESS ES1878 Plug and Play
AudioDrive. Double click on the first one, and select drivers/update
drivers.
-
Answer Yes to allow Windows to search for new
drivers. Windows will not fine the new driver, so click on Other
Locations, and type in A:\audiow95 as the directory.
-
Windows will find ESS 1878 Control Interface. Click
on Finish.
-
Type in A:\audiow95 again and click on OK to start
copying files.
-
Repeat with the other ESS 1878 Plug and Play
AudioDrive in Other Devices to install the AudioDrive drivers.
-
To install Audio Rack Application, insert Audio
Drivers (disk 3 of 4) and run A:\aud32w95\setup from Windows.
Windows NT 4.0
-
Install Audio Driver
-
From the Start button, go to Control Panel /
Multimedia.
-
Click on the Devices tab / Add, and select Unlisted
Updated Driver.
-
Insert the diskette labeled Audio Driver disk 2 of
4, and type in A:\aud-nt40 as the directory.
-
Select ES 1878 Audio Drive 2.00.37, and select OK.
-
After files are copied, reboot the computer.
-
To install Audio Rack Applications, insert Audio
Driver disk 4 of 4, and run a:\aud32nt4\setup from Windows NT.
Windows 3.xx
-
Insert the diskette labeled Audio Driver disk 1 of 4
into drive A.
-
Run a:\audiow31\setup in Windows, and click on
Driver Installation.
-
Reboot the system when prompted.
-
Run a:\mixerw31\setup in Windows.
-
Click on Continue, OK to confirm destination
directory, OK again to create the directory, and Complete
Installation.
-
Run a:\aud32w31\setup in Windows.
-
Click on Continue, OK to confirm destination
directory, OK again to create the directory, and Complete
Installation.
PCMCIA Driver
Windows 95
-
Insert the Windows 95 OEM Setup CD-ROM into the
CD-ROM drive.
-
Copy the CBSS.VXD file from D:\Driver\PCMCIA\Cirrus
on the CD-ROM to C:\Windows\System.
-
Copy the PCMCIA.INF file from
D:\Driver\PCMCIA\Cirrus on the CD-ROM to C:\Windows\INF.
-
From C:\Windows\INF, delete "DRVIDX.BIN"
and "DRVDATA.BIN"
-
Go to Control Panel / System / Device Manager.
-
Remove the two Cardbus Controllers/Bridges from
Other Devices, and the PCMCIA Controller from PCMCIA sockets.
-
Restart Windows. Windows should rebuild Driver
Information Database.
-
You should see two Cirrus Logic PD6832 CardBus
Controller under PCMCIA socket in Device Manager.
-
If you need to use Cardbus cards in Windows 95, it
is recommended that you install Cardworks for Windows 95 at this
time.
Windows NT 4.0
Note:If
you wish to install both the Windows NT Service Pack and Cardwizard,
please install Service Pack before Cardwizard. Otherwise Windows NT will
fail to boot.
-
Insert the disk labeled "Cardwizard for Windows
NT", and Run A:\Setup.
-
Insert the disk labeled PCMCIA Drivers for Windows
NT.
-
Run A:\Setup.
-
Choose to install support for CL-PD 6832.
-
Reboot the computer when prompted.
-
To install Network card: Boot up Windows NT, and
insert the card. Cardwizard will detect the card, but you need to
click on Correct to configure it. If Networking components are not
installed, you will be asked to install it now. Recommended settings
for Network card: I/O address 300h, IRQ 11.
-
To install Modem card : Boot up Windows NT, and
insert the card. Cardwizard will detect the card. Go to Control
Panel/Modem, and choose Add modem. Allow Windows to detect the card
automatically.
Windows 3.xx
-
Insert PCMCIA Driver for DOS & Win31 in the
floppy drive.
-
Run a:\setup in Windows.
-
Choose 2 for the number of PCMCIA slots.
-
Select Custom Installation, and Select OK to confirm
the Cardwizard path.
-
Allow Setup to modify CONFIG.SYS and SYSTEM.INI and
WIN.INI.
-
If only network cards and modems are used for the
PCMCIA, then deselect the boxes labeled ATA Cards, SRAM
-
Cards, and FTL Flash Cards. Then, choose Install.
-
After Setup finishes copying files, remove the
diskette and restart the computer.
Configuring Modem
-
If you want to use Modem and Ethernet cards
simultaneously, you will need to disable COM 2 IrDA port from the
BIOS.
-
In the C:\Cardwiz directory, edit the file
Cardid.ini.
-
Set ComIRQ3 to 11, and Lan1IRQ to 3.
-
In the C:\Windows directory, edit the file
System.ini.
-
In the [386Enh] section, change the setting
forCOM3Irq to 11.
-
Reboot the system.
CD-ROM Driver
Windows 3.xx
-
Insert the diskette labeled Utility & Driver
disk into drive A.
-
Run "A:\cd10x\8710\setup". Files will be
copied.
-
Start Windows.
-
Insert Windows for Workgroup Disk #6 into the floppy
drive.
-
Add the [MCI] CD Audio in Windows Control
Panel/Drivers.
-
Exit Windows.
-
Reboot to activate the CD-ROM Drive.
Trackpad Driver
Windows 3.x
-
Insert Utility & Driver Disk into the Floppy.
-
Run a:\touchpad\english\inst31
-
Choose continue, and choose to install DOS and
Windows drivers.
-
Press Enter to confirm that C:\GPOINT is the
destination directory.
-
Files will be copied. Press Enter again to update
startup files. Reboot when finished.
VPM Driver (ZV Port)
Windows 95
-
Insert the disk labeled "VGA Driver VPM &
Capture".
-
Start MS-DOS Prompt. From the C:\ prompt, type
"MD VPM" to create a directory.
-
Type "CD VPM" to change directory.
-
Type a:\vpm -d. Files will be extracted to the VPM
directory.
-
Type exit to return to Windows, and go to Control
Panel / Add New Hardware.
-
Choose Next, and choose No to prevent Windows from
searching for new hardware.
-
Choose Sound, Video, and Game Controllers as the
Hardware Type. Then choose Have Disk.
-
Type in C:\VPM\WIN95 as the copy path. You will see
Trident TGUI 968x/938x/969x AVI drivers. Click on OK.
-
Choose Finish to copy the files. Restart Windows
when prompted.
Windows 3.xx
-
Insert the disk labeled "VGA Driver VPM &
Capture".
-
Start MS-DOS Prompt. From the C:\ prompt, type
"MD VPM" to create a directory.
-
Type "CD VPM" to change directory.
-
Type a:\vpm -d. Files will be extracted to the VPM
directory.
-
From Windows, run C:\VPM\WIN31.
Video Capture
(Optional)
Windows 95 and 3.xx
-
Insert the disk labeled "VGA Driver VPM &
Capture."
-
Start MS-DOS prompt, and type "MD CAPTURE"
and "CD CAPTURE" to create and change to the directory.
-
Type A:\capture -d. Files will be extracted to the
Capture directory.
-
From the C:\capture directory, type Setup.
-
Click on Continue to confirm the installation paths.
Files will be copied.
